5 Years – with No Strings Attached
Yes, you read that right. All new Honda Marine outboard motors purchased for recreational use from an authorized Honda Marine dealer will be warranted against defects in material or workmanship for five (5) years from date of purchase. No catches. No strings. It’s that simple. -
A Real, Factory Direct Warranty
The True 5 warranty is offered and fully backed by Honda Marine for the life of the warranty. It’s not a 3rd party “extended service” contract, like most of our competitors offer.
There’s a big difference: the third party warranty companies often are more concerned with limiting claim payouts than with satisfying your service needs. -
Non-Declining
True 5 coverage is the same on the last day of coverage as it is on the first. This is not like "pro-rated" warranties that offer decreasing coverage as the warranty approaches its end date.

Four-strokes are approximately 50% more fuel-efficient than typical two-stroke outboard motors. No two-stroke oil is needed, reducing your costs even further -
Better technology means longer life
- 2-stroke engines rely on gas or air to carry a thin oil film to critical components. 4-strokes bathe every internal component in oil for consistent lubrication. This design also helps cool engine components, which improves durability.
- Ports in 2-stroke cylinders and pistons can accelerate piston and ring wear. Since there are no intake and exhaust ports in a 4-stroke cylinder or piston, they can operate with tighter tolerances for longer life -

4-stroke outboards are approximately 90% cleaner than typical 2-strokes. And 4-stroke motors do not release oil directly into the water. Honda outboards have ultra-low emissions. Living Lands & Waters Foundation, East Moline, Illinois
Living Lands aids in the protection, preservation and restoration of the natural environment of the nation's major rivers and their watersheds. In 1997, Chad Pregracke (a commercial diver at the time) decided to clean up what he considers home – the Mississippi River. Leaving his full time job behind and garnering support along the way, Chad and a band of volunteers have cleaned up over 1200 miles of Mississippi River bank and have since added the Illinois and Ohio Rivers to their incredible mission. The team has collected over 7 million pounds of debris in that time.
